What exactly does the "dual-source" design mean? Is it just a marketing term?
No. Flux-Lite has two physically separate LED arrays: 66 LEDs face downward to illuminate your desk, and 12 LEDs face upward to project a soft ambient light onto the wall behind your monitor. This reduces the contrast ratio between your bright screen and the dark room around it — which is the primary cause of eye fatigue during long screen sessions. You can verify this yourself: cover the rear LEDs and notice how much harsher the environment feels.
Will it work with my ultrawide or curved monitor?
Flux-Lite is designed for monitors with a standard top bezel (14–27 inch range). The clip mechanism accommodates bezels up to 35mm thick. For ultrawide monitors, the 330mm bar covers the central zone effectively. If your monitor has a very thin bezel (under 5mm), we recommend checking the clip fit before mounting — the clip requires a minimum grip surface of 5mm.
I already have a monitor light. Why would I switch to this?
Most monitor lights are single-source: they project light downward only. Flux-Lite adds the rear ambient fill, which single-source lights cannot replicate. If your current light already reduces screen glare but you still feel fatigued after long sessions, the missing element is likely the ambient fill — the contrast between your screen and the dark wall behind it. That's what Flux-Lite addresses.
How long will it last? I've had cheap desk lights fail within a year.
Flux-Lite uses 78 individual LED modules (66 + 12) rated for over 30,000 hours. At 8 hours of daily use, that's more than 10 years before any measurable degradation. The aluminum alloy housing also acts as a passive heat sink, keeping LED temperatures low — which is the primary factor in LED longevity.
